U5 Jamboree

Great Soccer Starts Here!

The objective of this program is to provide young players and their parents with a “pressure free” introduction to the beautiful and simple game of soccer. At this age players should be exposed to soccer by playing simple, fun activities and games that require little to no practice, and a minimal time commitment.

This program allows players to discover the game for themselves, while parents are given a soccer foundation on which to build and grow into future AYSO coaches, referees and administrators.

Division Coordinator

The U5 Jamboree Division Coordinator for the 2017 U5 Fall Season is Randy Minarik. Randy will be in charge of the program and available to answer any questions you may have.

How U5 Jamboree Runs

  • Organized as “One with One” – drills and games are built around a parent/guardian working closely with their player to teach the drills and games demonstrated by the UK Soccer coaches, as well as the Jamboree Coordinators.
  • One Child One Parent – this helps the player work closely with an adult that they know in focusing more on the drill or game, it also enables the parent/guardian to work closely in teaching the drill or game and to provide exposure to the wonderful opportunity of becoming an AYSO Coach.
  • Activities led and organized by Professional Coaches – drills and games are tailored to the Jamboree Program for both, player and parent/guardian, for a fun atmosphere while learning the game of soccer.
  • Also Pass Area AYSO volunteers – We have regional certified volunteer coaches that will provide help with the program.

Practices and Games

Your child will be assigned to attend ONE training session at the same time every Saturday at the Sports Park. We’ll have 2 sessions. Specific times will be set closer to opening day, usually between 9AM and 12PM.

Becoming an AYSO Volunteer

Important: Please read this carefully.

The U5 Jamboree program format requires participation from parents for every session on a One Child One Parent format (as explained above) and thus, it requires for all parents to become registered AYSO volunteers.

Any person in direct contact with children must be registered, approved and an active AYSO volunteer; as well as to hold a valid Safe Haven certificate.

The process to become an AYSO volunteer is simple and it takes 2 steps:

1. Become and AYSO volunteer

Login at http://account.passareaayso.org account (which is the same account you used to register your child) and click on the Register Now! button at the top right.

Select the middle option and complete the registration process.

AYSO volunteer application is only needed once a year.

2. Complete the Safe Haven Certification

The Safe Haven Certification is an online course that takes about an hour to complete.

The course is available at aysotraining.org. To complete the course, simply login with your AYSO ID (available at http://account.passareaayso.org) click on Courses, select AYSO’s Safe Haven and follow the instructions.
